 Radical Hospitality Minimize

Fellowship

We are a fellowship of those seeking to be Christ followers.  We are both seekers and mature Christian believers.  We seek to reach out to the community and to move them from a casual attender as a fully devoted follower of Christ.  We seek to live out our Christian life by:  1)  Fully committing ourselves as a lover of God, 2)  Comitting ourselves to loving our neighbors, and 3) Comitting ourselves to practicing compassion to the world.  We are calling those who attend to fully commit themselves to Christ by professing Jesus as Savior and joining the local church (body of Christ) demonstrated through baptism.  A "Great Church" is one who "loves God," "loves neighbor," "practices compassion," and is made up of those who are committed to these practices.

We begin with how we reach out.

Radical Hospitality – How?

Greeters
We are organizing a greeter program to be sure that everyone is welcomed and has a bulletin for worship

Nursery
We are re-organizing our nursery so that there are two adults available in the nursery every Sunday

Community Events
We participate in the Hart’s Farm Pumpkin Festival, and the Goldston Christmas Parade as community events. We also participate in community mission projects such as Habitat for Humanity, CORA walk in October, and Katrina Mission trips.

Evangelism
We have sent out visitation teams, use a large visible sign for church events, put out flyers for church events, And will start a “Basics of Christianity” course designed for seekers to the faith

Followup with Visitors
We follow up with first time visitors with a free coffee cup. After 3 or 4 visits, the pastor generally will call to See if a home visit is warranted.

Inclusiveness
We as a church seek to be open to all. We desire to live out open hearts, open minds, and open doors of the United Methodist Church. We believe that all need the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord of their life. Our desire is to be a welcoming church.
